Hunting

Deer & Black Bear...September-December

We at New York Outdoor Adventures love to hunt. But if you’re like us, you look at hunting camp as more than just a place to shoot a deer or a bear. Each year during the fall and early winter, friends gather at hunting camp to rekindle the camaraderie that is hunting camp. Good food, campfires and storytelling are a big part of hunting camp. Day trips or the “camp experience” are available. Our camps are based out of the “Beaver Meadow Lodge ”.

We have thousands of acres available, so be prepared for long days in the woods. Meals and comfortable accommodations are supplied, so just bring your hunting gear, a sleeping bag and your appetite for the outdoors! If you have a passion for hunting and enjoy the challenge of the big woods of the Adirondacks, please join us! We hunt deer and bear from mid- September to mid- December. The early season for bear is limited to a small number of hunters to increase the odds of success on this wary animal and create a personalized experience for our clients. We recommend at least a three-day hunt because although the bear population in our area is very healthy, hunting them is a game of patience and a challenge like no other.

Day trips and overnights available. Check the NYS Hunting guide for season dates or call NYOA for information.

Predators...October-March

Predator calling for coyote and fox is a great challenge. The season runs from October through March and the best hunting is when snow covers the ground and food sources are harder to find.
Turkey...May

There’s nothing like spring turkey hunting to get your heart racing! From the farmlands of the southern zone to the big woods of the southern Adirondacks, turkeys are a great success story in New York State. Come experience the thrill of calling spring gobblers. Sunrise to noon hunts available during the month of May. The spring turkey season coincides with the spring migration of Striped Bass. Come experience a morning hunt for the wiley gobbler and spend the afternoon fishing the Hudson river for monster Stripers.
